EO WORKS • Employer Opportunities
Share your experience. Build local talent.
Give someone a meaningful introduction to your industry while helping them build skills for the future. Through EO WORKS, Eastern Oregon employers can post internship opportunities, connect with interested applicants, and work with the Eastern Oregon Workforce Board to coordinate a placement.
Start by telling applicants about your workplace, the work they will do, and what they can learn. Once you find a suitable intern, our team will help coordinate the program requirements and internship agreement.
We provide ongoing support throughout the internship process, including:
- Assistance with planning and placement.
- No cost recruitment.
- No cost internship job board for all positions to be posted and pllied to.
- Training on how to mentor and manage interns.
- Wage assistance to help reduce your financial risk and support small businesses.
- Regular check-ins to ensure the internship is successful for both you adn the intern.
Interested in wage assistance?
When you post your internship, let us know whether you are requesting wage subsidy assistance and whether hosting an intern depends on that support.
Our team will follow up to discuss possible options. Assistance is subject to program eligibility, available funding, and approval. Posting an internship does not guarantee a subsidy.
How hosting an intern works
- Post your opportunity. Describe the position, location, responsibilities, learning opportunities, anticipated schedule, and any skills applicants should bring. Include the expected pay and timeframe where known, and indicate whether you need wage assistance.
- Review applicants and find a suitable match. Use your Employer Dashboard to manage your posting and review applications. Contact applicants to discuss the opportunity, conduct interviews, and identify the person you would like to hire.
- Complete the placement details. After you select an intern, our team will send you an employer placement form. You will provide your W-9 and confirm the wage, expected hours, duration, supervisor, start date, and end date. These details will be used to prepare your internship agreement.
- Review and sign the agreement. The draft agreement will be reviewed by EOWB’s Executive Director or Fiscal Director before it is sent to you for signature. The completed agreement will be retained with your business’s placement records.
- Prepare for the intern’s first day. All applicants complete the EO WORKS program application. Only those selected for a position complete orientation. Our team will coordinate the remaining requirements and confirm when the placement is cleared to begin.
- Support learning and share progress. Provide supervision and feedback throughout the internship. Complete any required time records, evaluations, and reimbursement documentation outlined in your agreement, and let our team know about changes to the placement.
Start with the opportunity—finalize the paperwork later.
You do not need to submit a W-9 or complete the placement agreement to post an internship. Those steps come after you identify a suitable intern. Please keep tax documents and other confidential business information out of your public posting.
