How do I get started?
Visit Employ an Intern to create an employer account and submit your internship description and business information. Tell us whether you need help with recruitment, applicant screening or wage assistance.
Our team reviews your posting and follows up as needed. You do not need to finalize a placement contract before posting. After you select an intern, we coordinate the remaining details and required agreements before the internship begins.
What types of businesses can participate?
EO WORKS welcomes employers offering meaningful, paid opportunities that help interns explore careers and build practical skills. We prioritize high-wage, high-demand industries and opportunities connected to career paths across Eastern Oregon, but encourage employers from all industries to reach out.
What support does EO WORKS offer employers?
Depending on your needs, we can help with:
Internship planning and recruitment through our no-cost job board.
Applicant screening and interviewing.
Guidance on mentoring and supervising interns.
Wage assistance, subject to eligibility and available funding.
Check-ins and support throughout the placement.
How do I manage my posting and review applicants?
Sign in to your Employer Dashboard to manage your postings and review applications. Let the EO WORKS team know when you have selected an intern.
Save Draft does not submit your posting. Complete the review or preview step and select the final submission button to send it for review.
If an account or password email does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder.
Do I need to pay the intern?
Yes. All EO WORKS internships are paid positions. Paid internships help participants gain career experience without having to choose between learning and earning income.
The posting form includes these options:
Employer-paid: Your business pays the intern’s full wages.
Wage reimbursement assistance: Request consideration for 50% or 75% wage reimbursement.
Additional guidance: Ask us about payroll options or other support.
Requesting assistance does not guarantee funding. EOWB will confirm eligibility, available funding, the employer-of-record arrangement and approved terms before the placement begins.
How long do internships last?
Internship length depends on the position, the participant’s goals, employer needs and any school requirements. Some school-credit placements may require at least 90 hours, but requirements vary and must be confirmed with the school.
Wage assistance may have limits on hours, duration or reimbursement. Discuss your proposed schedule with EO WORKS so we can identify the available options.
What happens after I select an intern?
Notify the EO WORKS team. We will confirm the position details with you and help the selected intern complete orientation and any remaining program requirements.
Applicants may apply for positions before completing their EO WORKS program information; our team follows up on anything missing. Orientation takes place after selection.
The intern should begin only after EOWB confirms that the required paperwork and placement arrangements are complete.
What paperwork is involved?
After selection, we collect the details needed for the placement, including the intern’s name, supervisor, wage, hours, worksite, start and end dates, and payroll arrangement.
For wage reimbursement or other assistance, required documents may include a W-9, a signed agreement, timesheets and payroll documentation. EOWB reviews the agreement before sending it for signature. Required agreements must be completed before work begins.
Employer-paid placements generally involve less program paperwork. We will explain what applies to your arrangement and request feedback after the internship. Any school-credit assignments or presentations are coordinated with the participant’s school.
Can I hire the intern permanently?
Absolutely. EO WORKS encourages employers to “Grow Your Own” workforce and create lasting career opportunities in Eastern Oregon.
If you plan to hire your intern during or after the placement, contact us to discuss the transition and any resources available through EOWB or WorkSource Oregon partners. If you cannot offer a permanent position, we can help the intern explore other opportunities.
